These two feel as though they belong together. They have the same earthy palette and movement, but to me they tell two different parts of one story: the first feels grounded and protected; the second feels like release and rise.
There are seasons when life asks us not to move forward, but simply to stand. To put our roots deeper into the earth and trust that what looks fragile above the ground is being strengthened beneath it.
In this painting, the dark trunk rises through layers of earth, rust, moss green and quiet blue. Around it, the softer whites seem almost like light breaking through — making space for something new.
The tree does not grow perfectly. It bends. It carries scars. Its branches reach in different directions. And still, it grows.
Perhaps that is grace — not a life untouched by difficulty, but the quiet strength to keep reaching towards the light. Some of our most beautiful growth begins in the places where we once thought we were broken.
