There is a place where the earth remembers everything. It remembers the storms that once darkened the sky, the fires that swept across the land, and the rains that returned quietly afterwards. It remembers every footprint, every creature that passed through, and every season that seemed as though it would never end.

In this painting, darkness gathers on one side while light opens on the other. Between them, the colours of the earth move like old memories — deep blue, rust, ochre, green and gold — flowing into one another without beginning or end.

And there, almost hidden within the landscape, a small animal moves across the green. It does not need to dominate the painting. It simply belongs there.

Perhaps that is the soul of this work: we are not separate from the landscape. We emerge from it, live for a moment within it, and eventually disappear back into it. The darkness is not something to fear, and the light is not something to chase. Both are part of the same journey.
